Heale Wins Prestigious DOD Quality Award

July 6, 2008

Heale Manufacturing Co., Inc. was honored by the U. S. Department of Defense as one of the government’s best suppliers at an Automated Best Value System (ABVS) award ceremony last week. Firms that qualify as ABVS award winners must meet stringent Defense Department quality and delivery requirements. The computerized ABVS evaluation system awards a GOLD medal for a perfect 12 month score of 100. A score of 99.0 to 99.9 earns a SILVER medal and 98.0 to 98.9 earns a BRONZE medal.

Heale earned the Silver ABVS award by maintaining 100% quality and 99.98% on time delivery for over 550 contracts during the last 24 months. The lone delivery blemish occurred when one of Heale's suppliers could not meet a promised delivery date and Heale was forced to ship late.

"We are very proud to receive of this award because it shows our commitment to serving the troops who are serving our nation, and the world, in the fight against terrorism. This year interrupts our five consecutive years of earning Gold awards but we are still very proud on this accomplishment as it represents the 17th time we have won an ABVS award in the 18 years of the ABVS system's existence. Less than one-tenth of 1% of all DOD suppliers has matched this performance," said Erickson.
