Heale Wins Prestigious DOD Quality Award

July 7, 2007

Heale Manufacturing Co., Inc. was honored by the U. S. Department of Defense as one of the government's best suppliers at an Automated Best Value System (ABVS) award ceremony last week. Firms that qualify as ABVS award winners must meet stringent Defense Department quality and delivery requirements. The computerized ABVS evaluation system awards a GOLD medal for a perfect 12 month score of 100. A score of 99.0 to 99.9 earns a SILVER medal and 98.0 to 98.9 earns a BRONZE medal.

Heale earned the Gold ABVS award by maintaining 100% quality and 100% on time delivery on over 550 contracts during the last 24 months. Fewer than 2% of all DOD suppliers earned gold awards this year.

Elliott Erickson, President of Heale Manufacturing, accepted the gold award from the commander of the Defense Supply Center, Navy Rear Admiral Mark Heinrich in Richmond VA.

"We are very proud to again receive of this award because it shows our commitment to serving the troops who are serving our nation and the world in the fight against terrorism. This award marks the fifth consecutive year we have earned the GOLD and the 16th time we have won an ABVS award in the 17 years of its existence. Less than one-tenth of 1% of all DOD suppliers has matched our performance," said Erickson.
